Parkdale Film & Video Showcase
August 8-16, 2015

An annual presentation and celebration of media art in Toronto’s most eclectic neighbourhood. We feature work by talented artists who live in our neighbourhood and work that explores themes of relevance to our diverse community.

All events are pay-what-you-can.

ReOpen – August 8 @ 8:00 PM
Rhino Bar & Grill (Second Floor, 1249 Queen St. W.)

A festival opening party featuring a musical performance by L CON and a performative film screening by local artists.

ReImagine – August 8 @ 1PM Parkdale Library (1303 Queen St. W.)
A free video-making workshop for youth aged 11-16 years. With the guidance of talented local filmmakers Eva Kolcze and Terra Long, participants will create a ‘scavenger hunt video’ about Parkdale, which will screen at our ReClaim event on August 15. Space limited. Please email info@parkdaleshowcase.ca to sign up.
No previous video experience needed.

ReAct – August 14 @ 7:30 PM
PARC (1499 Queen St. W.)
A curated screening of short films and videos that explore how changes in our environment caused by natural disaster, the gentrification process, immigration or war can impact our daily lives and sense of self.

ReClaim – August 15 @ 9:00 PM
Dunn Avenue Parkette (Just south of Queen on the east Side of Dunn Ave.)
An outdoor showcase of short films and videos by Parkdale community members.

ReVisit – August 8-16
Various Locations
A collection of storefront media installations at various locations in the neighbourhood.
